Our Positions and Demands

Unlimited contracts

As in our career model (original in German), project assistants who have proven that they can finance their own position should be offered an unlimited contract. This way, they can continue with research and teaching at TU Wien as long as they get funding. Short funding gaps should not lead to the termination of the contract

->  long-term career at TU Wien becomes possible, enabling continuity in research and teaching!

Fair pay for teaching

  • Project assistants should get the same compensation as university assistants for teaching
  • All assistants should get compensated for supervising theses
  • Fair pay for the amount of work done, also for tutors

-> We need more budget for fair payment of our excellent teaching!

Planable PhDs

Since the official duration of a PhD is 3 years, Predocs must be able to finish in 3-4 years within their funding. Their proficiency evaluation after the first year must give a secure perspective on that, and transparent rules are necessary to plan their career after the PhD. 30h pay = 30h work, so Predocs should be paid 40h/week. transparent rules

-> no more exploitation of the most vulnerable group of scientists!

Transparency and Connection

We stand for transparency and will regularly publish the activities of the works council, so you know what we are doing in your interest, and we will also take your input for that.
